The Sustainable Highworth Working Group (SHWG) has been set up to monitor, advise, engage, and promote environmental matters across the Highworth Community through the sharing of ideas and expertise with the aim of implementing changes which will increase the biodiversity in and around the Town, reduce Highworth’s overall impact on the environment and improve the well-being of residents .The Group will review the suggestions submitted by Highworth Community at the Public Consultation and identify feasible actions at Individual, Community and Council level. Highworth Town Council is obliged to revise its Neighbourhood Plan every three years. Unfortunately, this revision has been delayed because of the COVID-19 pandemic. We now have to make up for lost time and press on with the revision. To do this we need your help. Click on the Logo for more information.
Highworth Town Council supports the Visitor Information Centre in the form of a grant for 2021/2022.
The Information Centre can be found on Highworth High Street opposite the Market Place. This quintessential hilltop market town has a unique heritage (including over 80 listed buildings) and a link to an important WWII resistance story. The centre enhances the visitor experience to the town and showcases local art and crafts. It develops public engagement with the heritage story through exhibits, displays and local information.
The Highworth Twinning Association was formed in 1990 when the Town twimmed with Pontorson in Normandy, France. In June 2010 Highworth Twinning Association celebrated 20 years of twinning and also a signed Charter formalising its twinning arrangements with Wassenberg, Germany. T
Highworth Town Council is a member of Visit Wiltshire, Wiltshire has been a special place for centuries. Today, it is the perfect place to find space and time.
In line with the latest government advice, many more businesses across Wiltshire have now reopened. Our comfortable and welcoming accommodation, delicious food and drink, and wonderful things to do have been working hard to put everything in place for you to have a safe and fun visit.

The Council consists of 15 elected Councillors. The Public are encouraged to attend Public Council Meetings held in the Council Chambers, please note public participation is not permitted.
